Work Rights for International Students

While studying, international students holding a residence permit for study purposes are permitted to work part-time, up to 20 hours per week, totaling a maximum of 1,040 hours per year.

Post-Study Work Visa (Permesso per Ricerca Lavoro):

Upon graduation, non-EU students can apply for a “Permesso per Ricerca Lavoro,” a job search permit valid for up to 12 months. This permit allows graduates to stay in Italy while seeking employment or planning to establish a start-up. To be eligible, applicants must register as unemployed with the Italian employment center (Centro per l’Impiego) and provide proof of sufficient financial means, not less than the annual Italian social allowance (€6,542.51). Additional requirements include proof of accommodation, health insurance coverage, and a valid passport.
